Happy New Years to Everybody! Gameday Blog: Week 17 Scores & Predictions!

First off I just wanna thank all my readers, and wish everybody a Happy New Year! Be safe tonight everybody.

So Lets get to it. I have some upsets for you this week, as we prepare for what I think will be a crazy closing week in the National Football League.

Fair well To The Regular Season.

Detroit @ Green Bay:  This season 10 times out of 10 I would pick Green Bay...Hold up though. Green Bay has already clinched home field advantage, and the number one seed. Which means their starters will see the Bench at some point. Detroit is in the Playoffs, but still has a better seed to play for. Detroit 36 Green Bay 27

Tennessee @ Houston:  The last two weeks what I have seen out of T.J. Yates has been good, but not good enough to go anywhere. 13-16 for 160+ yards Vs the Indianapolis Colts Defense?? Houston needs Matt Schaub back. All Tennessee needs to is win, and rely on other teams to decide their fate. Titans 24 Texans 18

Indianapolis @ Jacksonville:  Two words and a hyphen. Maurice Jones-Drew. Colts will tie the Rams for the leagues worst record. Jaguars 17 Colts 14 (OT)

New York Jets @ Miami:  While I don't think this is the last year we will see Mark Sanchez as a NFL QB (That will come mid-season next year.) Matt Moore is showing promise for the Miami Dolphins. Dolphins 30 Jets 20

Chicago @ Minnesota:  I liked what I saw of Josh McCown last week Vs the Packers, if it carries over Chicago gets another W. Still puzzled why they didn't sign a vet QB to come in after Cutler got injured, but hey their not my team hahaha. Minnesota will have a gimpy Adrian Peterson & Christian Ponder, but with Joe Webb possibly starting at quarterback again it's anybodies ball game. Push

Buffalo @ New England:  Bla bla bla Tom Brady's got a sore shoulder..I ain't buyin it. The Pats still have a #1 seed to play for. And as for Buffalo....alot of teams circle the wagons like the Buffalo Bills #Thatisall. New England 35 Buffalo 25

Carolina @ New Orleans:  I believe the Saints starters will play the whole game, and with that we have our winner. We also have possibly two of the best rookie quarterbacks to ever play this game in Cam Newton and Andy Dalton. Saints 35 Panthers 34...doesn't it seem like the Saints always play at home?? Just sayin.

Washington @ Philadelphia:  Well Rex Grossman's New Years resolution is to not make any stupid predictions for next year. "I believe we will win the NFC East" Grossman will be warming the bench or perhaps bagging grocery's at Food Lion. Ohh and Mike Vick..yea he's pretty good. Eagles 37 Redskins 17 

San Francisco @ St. Louis:  San Francisco will play their starter the whole game, as they want that first round bye in the playoffs. Regardless weather they get it or not, this will be the first time since 2002 that the 49ers have been in the playoffs. Congrats to them. I do think the Rams will challenge the 9ers however, but they fall short. 49ers 25 Rams 20

Seattle @ Arizona:  Both teams are red hot, even though they have nothing to play for. I expect this game to be great! John Skelton has a job to play for, and Marshawn Lynch will be snacking on some skittles after he scores two rushing TD's. Cards win however. Cardinals 26 Seahawks 21

Tampa Bay @ Atlanta:  The Bucs are kind of a hot mess right now. Their coach will most likely be fired at the end of the season. Why? Good question, this can't be good for Josh Freeman. Falcons 28 Buccaneers 21

Baltimore @ Cincinnati:  Everbody's hoppin on that Bengals bandwagon in week 17....well whats their excuse going to be when they lose? Hmmmm. Ravens 28 Bengals 18. However I believe the Bengals will manage to make it to the playoffs, and all im going to say is...I'm scared (No sarcasm intended.)

Pittsburgh @ Cleveland:  Word is Ben Roethlisberger will be a game time decision..ehhh that's risky, but regardless I like Cleveland in this game. Simply because the Browns were so close to getting their first and only legitimate victory IN Pittsburgh. They are also the reason for Big Ben's injury. The Browns will come out hungry and aggressive. Browns 24 Steelers 21 (OT)

Kansas City @ Denver:  If the Chiefs had any other quarterback starting I would pick the Denver Broncos. Weather Kyle Orton shows it or not Kyle Orton is hungry for a win over his former team. Chiefs 30 Broncos 15

PS: this game will come down to the last five minutes. Callin it KC scores two touchdown's in the final five.
 

San Diego @ Oakland:  With an Oakland win, and a Denver loss. The Raiders will clinch the AFC west. San Diego is still a tough football team, but Carson Palmer and Denarious Moore single handedly torched the Chargers secondary. Now this time their at home, oh boy. Raiders 24 Chargers 17

SNF Dallas @ New York Giants:  With out a doubt, don't care who you are a fan of this is the game of the week! It was even flexed to a prime time setting. Eli Manning does deserve to be in the pro bowl (nothing against Matt Stafford) but the man has beaten the "Eli"te teams when he has too. 14 touchdown passes in the fourth quarter thus far. Make it 16 after Today. Tony Romo has always had this Dallas squad playing great. Yea he's a bit of a choker, but I believe if the Cowboys stick with him. They will win a Super Bowl BOOK IT!! Giants 31 Cowboys 29.

Game Day Blog: NFL Week 16 Predictions & Scores!

Due to Christmas day being on a Sunday. Most of the NFL games will be played Saturday, and with that I bring you the Game Day Blog! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Giving the Colts their second win of the season

TNF  Houston @ Indianapolis:  You may never have thunk but, Thursday night was one hell of a game. On the Final drive of the game Colts QB Dan Orvlovsky threw the game winning TD pass to none other than Reggie Wayne. In what might be Waynes last home game as a Colt. Indianapolis went out with a bang (for a losing team.) As for the Texans hopes of clinching a first round bye have pretty much diminished, and their quarterback situation heading into the playoffs is still a question mark. Final Score: Colts 19 Texans 16.

Cleveland @ Baltimore:  With Houston losing as long as Baltimore wins out they are guaranteed at least the second seed in the AFC. Which means their guaranteed at least one home playoff game. This week against the Browns I don't see the Ravens struggling, as long as the football meets Ray Rice. Ray Rice torched the Browns D in week 13 for a career high 204 yards. With this game being IN Baltimore I can see somewhat of a repeat...as long as the football meets Ray Rice. For the Browns Colt McCoy will not start (concussion) which leaves it up to the speedster Seneca Wallace. This somewhat scares me as I think Wallace poses more of a threat to the Ravens D, however Ravens win 26-16.

Denver @ Buffalo:  If this was the Buffalo Bills of 11 weeks ago they would stand more of a chance if not win the game. But the Broncos right now are the better team, and I haven't even mentioned Tebow yet. With that being said. Broncos win 24-17.

Tampa Bay @ Carolina:  If this was the Buccaneers of 10 weeks ago they would stand more of a chance if not win the game (Deja vu?) Cam Newton, and the Panthers keep producing statistically it just hasn't been showing in the win column just yet. This game will be a little bit different. Cam passes for 400 yards, 2 touchdowns, and rushes for one more, while getting the win 34-25

Arizona @ Cincinnati:  Trap game? The Bengals are still in the race for the wild-card, but they will have to face a hot Arizona team. Who has won six of their last Seven games. Even with WR A.J. Green likely out, I still have the Bengals victorious 24-21

Oakland @ Kansas City:  With Kansas City's latest win over the NFL's number one Green Bay Packers. Chiefs player are pumped! And playing for the job of interim head coach Romeo Crennel. I had originally picked Oakland, and I still am...just slightly. Just watch out for them Chiefs. Raiders win 27-24

Miami @ New England:  The Patriots are in the position Baltimore was in last week. Win out, and they will win home field advantage through out the playoffs. Out of there remaining two opponents, Miami, then at home against the Bills. If the Pats are going to lose any of those games, I think Miami has the best shot. However, Patriots still win it 28-17.

New York Giants @ New York Jets:  Game Of The Week! This game has HUGE implications for both teams. In the battle of the big apple. a win for the Giants keeps their playoff hopes alive, as a win for the Jets keeps their playoff hopes alive. Meaning both these teams are in control of their own destiny. This is the game where i think Mark Sanchez has to play his best, and get rid of his critics. If Sanchez fails I'm not sure if we can expect him back in New York for much longer. In the Giants case i wouldn't say Eli is fighting for his job as much as Eli is fighting for Tom Coughlins job. If the Giants miss the post season, they could potentially be in serious danger of losing their head coach Tom Coughlin. This is a home game for both teams, on a neutral playing field I will take Eli over Sanchez any day. Giants win 27-25.

St. Louis @ Pittsburgh:  With the Steelers already clinching a post season birth. They are resting starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger (Charlie Batch will start), and with their last two games being against teams with a combined six wins. It's the perfect time to do it. By the way Rams Tom Brandstater is expected to make the start with Sam Bradford being doubtful with an Ankle injury. Either way it doesn't matter Steelers win 28-16.

Jacksonville @ Tennessee:  The Titans aren't technically eliminated from the postseason, but I think last weeks lost to the Colts. Pretty much killed any late season run they had in them. In Jacksonville if not for half back Maurice Jones-Drew a.k.a. the NFL's leading rusher, I think we are all talking about the Jags in the running for the number one pick. Even though this game is in Tennessee I don't necessarily think that gives the Titans any edge they didn't already have. Titans cling on in a close one 20-17.

Minnesota @ Washington:  Washington has definitely not been a team to sleep on the past two weeks. That's why even with Adrian Peterson back, I'm not. Another note nobodies talking about Vikings head coach Leslie Frazier. Perhaps his job could be on the line if the Vikings don't step up these last two games? anyhow Redskins win 24-17.

San Diego @ Detroit:  Game Of The Week!  Huge playoff implications for both teams, and the only reason I don't love San Diego in this one. Is because, their going on the road in Detroit, where you can expect the temperatures to drop between the 30's or 40's. I don't love San Diego but I like them in this high scoring affair. Chargers win 36-34.

Philadelphia @ Dallas:  Similar to the Chargers Lions game. This game has huge playoff implications, one teams higher than the other. Philadelphia has been fighting all season, and as much as I've bashed them this season, dream team or not. Look out for them next season. Yes it's December but the Cowboys have to figure out something to get rid of their December woes. I think they find a way this game. Cowboys win 30-24.

San Francisco @ Seattle:  You may consider this as an upset. But Seattle is at home, in arguably the best home field advantage in the national football league, Ranked eighth in the league in defense, and allow around 19 points a game. San Fran has a good defense too, but I still like Marshawn Lynch to pick the 9ers D apart. In an exciting game Seattle wins 26-24.

Sunday Night Football  Chicago @ Green Bay:  With Jay Culter the Bears "had" a shot. But since the Bears decided to trust Caleb Hanie, and now Josh McCown. The Packers clinch home field advantage throughout, and win it 30-16. Expect a Matt Flynn sighting in Sunday Nights game.

MNF  Atlanta @ New Orleans:  In one of the most underrated rivalry's in football. MVP candidate Drew Brees attempts to lead this Saints team to their 12th win of the season, and chases Dan Marinos all time passing record. While Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons look to stay in position to win the NFC wild-card. I'm taking the Saints to prevail in this game, and Drew Brees will pass Marino's record of 5084 passing yards in a season. Saints win 35-25.

#UpsetSunday

Week 15 brought craziness to the NFL. I lost 6 games out of my 15 picks and STILL managed to win the pool I was in! Former fullback Lorenzo Neal said it best via twitter "#UpsetSunday."

Titans 13 Colts 27

Well if there was one thing I got right in this game it was that Tennessee's QB's would combine to throw 300 yards, but what does that matter. Matthew Hasselbeck threw two interceptions (1 for a touchdown.) While Colts QB Dan Orvlosky made sure he wasn't going 0-16 for a second time. Orvlosky threw for only 82 yards, and a touchdown, but that would be all he would need for the Colts to pull out their first win of the season. Because, the Indianapolis D, and running game had his back. Cornerback Jacob Lacey took back one of the Hasselbeck int's for touchdown, running back Donald Brown sprinted 80 yards to assure that there would be no such thing of a Titans comeback, and to add on to that Adam Vinateri made two field goals. Yup thats 27.

But how did the Titans only manage to score 13? They won the time of possession battle, were better on third down efficiency (37% compared to 25%), and out gained the colts in yardage by 101. It all comes down to lack of execution. Chris Johnson was ineffective only 55 yards on the day. Matt Hasselbeck gave the Colts seven points with one interception, and threw the second to Linebacker Pat Angerer in the end zone. Rookie QB Jake Locker came in as relief, and still couldn't get a fire lit, only throwing for 100 yards with no touchdowns, and I forgot to mention this Colts defense is 28th in the league. The Titans just couldn't execute. Their drives lasted but not with any meaningful results, and because of that the Colts got their first victory of the season and the Titans are still in the hunt.


Chiefs 19 Packers 14

The Packers are undefeated no more! But who would of expected it to come against the Kansas City Chiefs? They just fired their head coach, and coming into this game had a total of five wins. Aaron Rodgers played well, and the rest of the Pack offense didn't turn the ball over. The Chiefs didn't get takeaways them selves.

to beating the Packers 19-14 on Sunday afternoon.

This game was all about the Pack defense who came in 30th in the league, however number one in taking the ball away. But the Packers defense gave up 438 total yards compared to their 315, gave up 23 first downs, and let the Cheifs run the ball for 140 yards.

Kyle Orton had a touchdown pass, Jackie Battle ran the ball in for six, Ryan Succop tacked on a field goal, and Kansas City managed to tack on a safety.

To me what won the Cheifs the game was their pass rush (4 total sacks, 3 by linebacker Tamba Hali), and interim head coach Romeo Crennel. After the game the Chiefs bombarded Crennel with hugs, and a Gatorade bath. Maybe it was just because they beat an undefeated team or Maybe its a sign of things to come. Not trying to get caught up in the moment, but I think Romeo would make out well if he remains as head coach of the Chiefs next season. He doesn't have a winning record as a head coach (previously with Cleveland), but Crennel does bring experience, Super Bowl rings (which he won as defensive coordinator in New England), and managed to almost make the playoffs. He even got a pro bowl year out of Derek Anderson...who is now acting as 3rd string QB for the Carolina Panthers. Bottom line hire Crennel, and congrats to the Chiefs for beating the Packers. Maybe now ESPN will finally shut up about the Green Bay Packers....course now they have even more reason to talk about them. Sigh.


Redskins 23 Giants 10

This game was probably the most surprising of them all (yes I give it the edge over the Packers.) The Giants were coming off a HUGE victory in Dallas last week, had the division lead, and momentum was definitely on their side. The Gmen come into this game to take on the 4-10 Redskins AT HOME, and they just flat out lay an egg.

Rex Grossman was..well still Rex Grossman. He threw 2 picks only 185 yards, and had a 65.5 QB rating. Washington ran for 123 yards, Scored a rushing, and passing touchdown on this Giants D. That's only 14 points the Skins scored via touchdown. Kicker Graham Gano tacked on three field goals to make it 23.

The Giants average 24 points a game, and Eli has been fantastic this year engineering four, fourth quarter comebacks. But Washington's defense wasn't allowing anything from Eli. Manning went 23/40, threw three interceptions, and had a QB rating of 45.5. This allowed the Redskins to do want they want offensively, and easily win this ballgame. Giants #1 receiver Hakeem Nicks dropped two touchdown passes that Eli practically handed to him. So it wasn't all on the Giants quarterback, but the way the Giants played tonight wasn't good enough to beat anyone. Not even the Rams.

Even with this Giant loss, the Gmen still control their own fait. They just need to win their next two games, at home versus the Jets, and at home versus the Cowboys. You can bet coach Tom Coughlin will have these men geared up and ready to go for these next two games. Coughlin is fighting for his job, but there's no doubt in my mind that the players will have his back. New York is better than their record shows (7-7), and if the Giants can back into the playoffs. Look out because, aside from the Saints, and 49ers these guys are the only legitimate threat to beat the Packers. I'm Calling it right now the Giants WILL make the playoffs, and make it to the NFC championship game. Weather it's against the Packers or 49ers remains in question. I guess we will just have to wait until January.


Chargers 34 Ravens 14

The Ravens came into this game controlling their own destiny. Win out and their the number one seed in the AFC. I wouldn't really call this game to much of an upset..but i am Upset. Perhaps the most explosive offense Baltimore will face all year is the Chargers, but against this third ranked defense. With Ray Lewis coming back. For the Chargers to put up 34 points is just embarrassing. Rookie corner Jimmy Smith got beat deep, numerously, time after time Rivers was throwing Bomb after Bomb down the field, and before the ball even fell into the receivers hand you knew it was going for a big play.

Phillip Rivers threw for almost 300 yards, and a touchdown. Chargers #2 receiver Malcom Floyd had 96 yards in the air, with a touchdown. While Chargers #1 Vincet Jackson caught 3 balls for 84 yards, but it wasn't just the receiving corps that torched the Ravens. The Chargers running game caught fire simultaneously. Sophomore running back Ryan Matthews ran for 90 yards, and two touchdowns. Mike Tolbert ran for 40 yards off of eight carries with a touchdown.

The Chargers are going to need allot of help to get in the post season. Basically both Denver, and Oakland has to lose their remaning games and San Diego has to win out. But if the Chargers somehow do make the playoffs, if they play like this! Look out ain't no one beating them, not even the Packers.

As for the Ravens, Ray Rice only had 10 carries for 57 yards. Joe Flacco practically walked up to the Chargers linebackers and handed them two interceptions. So here we go again. Yes the Ravens fell behind early only 17-7 going into the second half, but that's no excuse to abandon the run. Double R was averaging 5 yards a carry, yet Baltimore was still coming out of the shotgun of first and second down. Recievers weren't getting open, and Joe couldn't adjust and make the right reeds. I don't know whats sup with John Harbaugh and Cam Cameron, but if Baltimore wants ANY kind of shot at winning in the post season...Ray Rice needs the ball. I still believe Flacco can get it done, he can be a clutch quarterback when need be, but he's not Drew Brees or Tom Brady. Flacco isn't going to put up the 4 to 5,000 yard passing seasons or throw for 30-40 touchdowns. I just don't understand Cam and Johns thought process.

When the Ravens offense has balance; Ray Rice 20-30 carries, Joe Flacco 20-30 attempts. They win football games, and if Baltimore can do this through the playoffs they WILL be representing the AFC in the Superbowl.

TNF Jacksonville @ Atlanta:  The Atlanta Falcons proved on Thursday night. That a team who does not make the playoffs the year before...Should probably not get 3 prime time games in a season.  -____- Final Score: Falcons 41 Jaguars 14.

SaturdayNF Dallas @ Tampa Bay:  Since this game hasn't technically started yet (wrote this Saturday night.) I'm going to go with Dallas in this one. But they don't play well in December, and Romo chokes like hell toward the end of the year. Right? Nah. I like Dallas because their going to Tampa Bay a team that has lost 7 straight, their starting QB isn't 100%, and Tampa is a warm area. Something the Cowboys are used to, and I believe Romo can get it done in December...well at least this game. Cowboys win it 35-26.

Saturdays game went sort of how I expected it Romo had 3 TD passes plus a rushing touchdown. As for the Bucs their numbers were a little low on the scoring side. Final Score: Cowboys 31 Buccaneers 15.

Miami @ Buffalo:  Here's a interesting fact. Last week five teams scored exactly 10 points, and both these teams contributed. Since Ryan Fitzpatrick got paid (59 million over 6 years) The Bills are 0-6. However the Dolphins fired coach Tony Sparano this week. Why? Good question, and because of that decision I think the Dolphins score another 10 points, and lose the game. Bills win 24-10

Seattle @ Chicago:  The Bears have scored a total of 13 points their last two games. It's obvious Caleb Hanie couldn't pick up where Jay Cutler left off. So why is he still starting? Yea I see another 10 to 15 points in Chicago's future. Exspecially when Seattle has a great pass defense, and (Money) Marshawn Lynch. Seahawks get their fifth win in six games by a score of 23-13 

Carolina @ Houston:  T.J. Yates the rookie QB from UNC has won his first two starts, and against two very good teams. Carolina isn't as good as the Bengals or the Falcons, but when Cam Newton is on the ball the only thing stopping this team from winning is their defense. And when Carolina's defense plays good Cam throws picks (16) or fumbles (3). Then he goes on and makes himself look like an ***hole during his press conferences. But what does that matter? Yates improves to 3-0 as a starter, and Newton goes off on some reporter. Texans win 19-17.

Cammmm Whoahhhh Cammmmm!

Tennessee @ Indianapolis:  Not happening this week, but maybe Indianapolis can get their first win next week by catching the Texans off guard...but I doubt it. Chris Johnson goes for 125, Matt Hasselbeck, and Jake Locker combine to throw for 300 yards...In other words. Titans win it 35-10

Green Bay @ Kansas City:  KC has failed to score more than 10 points in their last SIX starts (week 9.) I can't even make a decent argument on how or why the Chiefs can beat the Pack. Well Tyler Palko's accuracy is....How about that KC run ga.....Well the Chiefs run defense can st....Hey at least they have good barbecue. I expect Matt Flynn to be playing midway through the second quarter. Pack win not even close 44-9

New Orleans @ Minnesota:  Hey! Adrian Peterson comes back this week now Minnesota is just terrible instead of completley terrible. Saints roll to 11-3 by a score of 32-21.

Washington @ New York Giants:  As NFL Network analyst Andrew Sicilliano pointed out. The Giants don't have to leave their stadium for the remainder of the regular season. With that being said I think the Giants win out. Yes even against the "serging" Washington Redskins! Giants win 28-17.

Cincinnati @ St. Louis:  The Bengals have slipped down in the AFC wild-card race. Their 7-6, and pretty much need to win out to have any shot at the playoffs. The Rams have won two games this season, but one of them came against the Saints! Could this be another loss for Cinci? Not this time, going to have to wait to week 17 until Cincinnati takes another L. Bengals win 25-6

Detroit @ Oakland:  Oakland needs to win this game if they want to make the playoffs this year. The same goes for Detroit. But even in a hostile environment like Oakland I think the Lions D-Line gets to Carson Palmer, and forces him to throw the game ending pick. Plus the Lions will have NdamuSTOMP Suh back. Lions win 30-23.

Cleveland @ Arizona:  Before I knew Seneca Wallace was starting for the Browns, I had picked the Cardinals. I think with Seneca the Browns do have a better shot then with McCoy (at the moment.) However the Cardinals have an x factor, and his name is Larry Fitzgerald. Yea he goes over 100 yards, and the Cards win it 25-20

New England @ Denver:  This game will either be a blow out or come right down to the wire. On the field you have two of the best fourth quarter QB's in the league. With this game being in Denver I think the Broncos will keep it close, but the Broncos wont pull it off. there's just NO WAY Tebow can beat the Patriots too! NO WAY! Patriots win 25-17.

New York Jets @ Philadelphia:  Somehow someway the Jets are in control of their own destiny. Just win out, and their in. However we know Philly spoiled there own season, but that doesn't mean they can't spoil others. Trent Cole and Jason Babin will be all over Mark Sanchez (4 sacks combined.) Philadelphia wins it 24-17.

SNF Baltimore @ San Diego:  Here we go with Phillip Rivers making his late season run again. But as I said in my last entry the only loss the Chargers will face the rest of the season is against this team right here. Phillip Rivers will give Baltimore's defense a challenge, but it just won't be enough. Baltimore emerges victorious 28-17.

No Harrison, No Problem.

MNF Pittsburgh @ San Francisco:  Steeler fans are whining about the loss of OLB James Harrison who was suspended one game for his helmet to helmet hit on Browns QB Colt McCoy. Ima pull a Deion Sanders on these Steeler fans HOLD ON PLAYA!  You act like James Harrison is to the Steelers what Peyton Manning is to the Colts. No! You've won without him before, and I don't care if Troy Polamalu and James Harrison aren't on the field Pittsburgh is still the better team. They go out and get it done on the west coast weather Ben starts or not. Steelers win 24-13.

NFL Gameday Blog, but first...

Ryan Braun:  Just when you thought baseball was exiting what was called "The Steroid Era." Your NL MVP tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. I'm just as shocked as you are, Braun is probably the last person I would have expected to test positive for PED, but it happened.

Braun put together a tremendous season batting .332, knocking in 111 runs, blasting 33 home runs, winning the MVP, and helped the Milwaukee Brewers to their first Championship game in franchise history. Now an asterisk will sit beside this season stats and the rest of his career.

It's ashame play the game the right way or don't play it all. Braun now faces a 50 game suspension at the start of this season. If you want my opinion on it players like Braun should be suspended

for a full season, and it should be taken into consideration that they never play in MLB ever again.

Of course Braun has denied the reports calling it "BS." Although Major League Baseball wouldn't make up a positive test so Braun's comments are irrelevant. It's also pretty contradicting when you hear what Ryan "the juicer" Braun had to say about Alex Rodriguez when he tested positive for PED's in 2003.

"The best thing he can do is come out, admit to everything and be completely honest. The situation will die a whole lot faster if he tells the whole truth"

And when asked if Braun would ever take performance enhancers he replied with

"I would never do it because if I took steroids I would hit 60 or 70 home runs."

...That's a great explanation Ryan where did you get that one from a 5 year old? Bottom line is you play the game the right way or don't play it all. I have lost all respect for Ryan Braun both as a person, and a player. Ryan Braun will likely be suspended 50 games at the start of this season, but I hope the MLB decides to do more. As a fan of the game you just don't want to see things like this.


NFL Week 14 Scores & Predictions!

TNF Cleveland @ Pittsburgh:  Cleveland actually had a chance in this game..but in the end it's the Browns. Final Score: Cleveland 3 Pittsburgh 14.

Indianapolis @ Baltimore:  A trap game for the Ravens? Maybe. I'll admit I'm a little scared, but not enough to pick the soon to be 0-13 Colts. Baltimore wins 24-10.

Atlanta @ Carolina:  Cam Newton has gone out and called the Panthers "tarnished", and basically said he is better than everyone else. Will this fire up Carolina? Who knows, but maybe with a Panthers win Newton can actually give a press conference were he doesn't look like hes about to punch someone. Carolina's defense is terrible which is why I think this game will be close, but I'm going to give the Panthers the edge in this one. Carolina wins 28-25.

Houston @ Cincinnati:  Bengals coach Marvin Lewis has went out and called this game "the biggest of his career." Kind of odd he was Baltimore defensive coordinator in the Superbowl in 2000/2001, and made the playoffs in 2005 as head coach of the Bengals. In the battle of two rookie quarterbacks I think the Ginger one gets the best of the other. T.J. Yates is making his second start of his career, will not have Andre Johnson, and faces the leagues 6th ranked defense. Bengals win 23-17.

Minnesota @ Detroit:  Detroit has been struggling, and it's not going to be a cake walk for them if they want to get into the playoffs. Minnesota's Joe Webb may get the start over an injured Christian Ponder, but either way I don't think it matters. Lions take down the Vikings 29-21

Tampa Bay @ Jacksonville:  If this game is on any ones TV that does not have NFL Sunday ticket, I will be shocked. The only thing good Jacksonville has going for them is Maurice Jones-Drew, but football isn't won with just one guy. Tampa Bay betters Jacksonville 25-13

Philadelphia @ Miami:  Michael Vick is suppose to start today against the Dolphins. Not sure why Philadelphia is going to throw him back in there like that, but I think it works. Eagles win 26-18

Kansas City @ New York Jets:  the Chiefs only managed to score 10 points last week versus Chicago, and facing the Jets defense will be no different. The Jets keep catching break after break, and they win this one 24-10

New Orleans @ Tennessee:  The 7-5 Titans are battling the Broncos, Jets, Bengals, and Steelers for the AFC wild-card. If Tennessee can win this game I think it gives them enough fire power to back into the playoffs. The fact that the Saints have all 3 losses on the road doesn't help them. The Titans emerge victorious 25-24

New England @ Washington:  I remember the last time these two teams met....52-7 not in favor of the Redskins. The Patriots wont put up that many points, and the Redskins won't be held to such a low amount versus the leagues worst defense. Patriots win 30-20

San Francisco @ Arizona:  Not a big game by any means, but I love to watch this rivalry. San Fran got the better of Arizona in week 12 winning 23-7, but I don't see this game being so one sided this time. Cardinals steel a victory 17-14 in overtime.

Chicago @ Denver:  Caleb Hanie couldn't even muster one touchdown versus the Chiefs defense. Now he faces an even tougher Denver defense. yea good luck with that. Broncos win their 5th straight 24-10.

Oakland @ Green Bay:  This game will be on TV at 4:00 eastern time (east coast only.) Expect a high scoring game....that is not won by Oakland :(. Packers remain undefeated, win it 35-30.

Buffalo @ San Diego:  ahh the battle of the underachievers. The Bills may be relevant next year, but as far as this season goes their screwed. Phillip Rivers is still a great quarterback, and will bounce back. I think the Chargers finish their season at 8-8 losing only to the Baltimore Ravens down the stretch. San Diego has this one down 32-21.

SNF New York Giants @ Dallas:  Game Of The Week!  <--- Without question. With the Cowboys loss to Arizona last week it keeps the Giants only one game back of the Cowboys. This is a big game, and it's in December, two things that don't go well with Tony Romo. Giants win 27-24.

MNF St. Louis @ Seattle:  I've really enjoyed watching the Seahawks over the last few weeks, I think next year or the year after they will be a team to look out for. Even with Tarvaris Jackson, and with thta all I have to say is. BEAST MODE!! Marshawn Lynch will have over 125 yards, and Rams 3rd string quarterback Tom Brandster is expected to get the start. Maybe he brings St. Louis a spark, but i doubt it. Seahawks win 27-14.

• Manny Ramirez has been reinstated by Major League Baseball. After testing positive for performance enhancing drugs two times over his career.
• Baylor's Robert Griffin III won the Heisman trophy Saturday. Giving Baylor it's first Heisman trophy ever.
• Lakers trade forward Lamar Odom to the Dallas Mavericks for future draft picks. With that it means the Lakers have pulled out of the Chris Paul chase.
• 4,000 plus fans went out to support Albert Pujols in his debut press conference as a Anaheim Angel
• Mavericks trade Center Tyson Chandler to the New York Knicks in a 3 team deal.

Reports: Bears Not Interested In Favre

He's played for the Packers, the Vikings, and now could the Bears be next NFC North team in line for Favre's services? Earlier this week it was reported that Brett Favre would talk to the Chicago Bears if they were interested in him. I mean why not? The man loves football, he finished his last season at 6-10, and the Bears are in serious contention in the NFC. So this makes perfect sense right?

Well no..it doesn't according to the Bears. Reports are saying that the Bears have no interest in bringing Favre to Chicago, and quite frankly I can't blame them. While I think another Favre comeback would be awesome. It's just to high risk for the Bears. Favre is 42 years old, and got hurt last season allowing him to miss a start for the first time since..well ever. Favre also hasn't practiced or played in an NFL game since December of 2010. One shot to the old man's legs or shoulder, and he's done.

So even if Favre isn't going to be a Chicago Bear, then what exactly are the Bears looking for? After Jay Cutler went down in week 11 with a broken thumb. It was reveled that he would miss the rest of the regular season and possibly the postseason. You would have thought the Bears would take action right away in signing a veteran quarterback, but they didn't (Unless you want to count Josh McCown...) The Bears stuck with backup Caleb Hanie, who now is 0-2 as a starter, and has 6 picks in two games. Hanie also threw a pick 6 to nose tackle B.J. Raji of the Packers in last years playoffs.

With Hanie stinking up the show in his last two games. Josh McCown is expected to make the start...like that's any better. McCown is suppose to be the "veteran" the Bears picked up last week when Cutler went out with his injury. Well...McCown has been in the league since 2002, is 12-19 as a starter, and has never been to the playoffs. The only thing that would make it worse is if he is taking advice from his brother Luke.

Where do the Bears have left to turn? The Texans have already scooped up Jake Delhomme, acquired Jeff Garcia, and the Chiefs have Kyle Orton. Are their even any decent quarterbacks out there? I'll answer that. Yes their is. Donavon McNabb was released by the Vikings last week upon request. His home town is in Chicago, and he's not a grandfather like Brett Favre. I think McNabb would fit perfectly with Chicago, but who knows what the Bears are going to do. There hasn't been reports tieing McNabb to the Bears, but there also haven't been reports saying McNabb will not be a Bear. If the Bears are going to make a move on Mcnabb I would expect a signing to occur this week.


What Should The Colts Do?

With Indianapolis sitting at 0-12 it's pretty much a shue-in that they will wind up with the number one pick. With people calling Andrew Luck "the best prospect since Elway" there's a slim chance he would fall anywhere, but number one overall. But with Peyton Manning just getting a new contract. What should the Colts do? Experts are saying take Luck, and have him sit behind Manning for three or four years or just trade Manning, and get whatever you can out of him.

Here's my take. I don't think any of those suggestions would be a good move for the Colts. If I'm Colts General Manager Bill Polian I take Andrew Luck number one, and trade him to the team who is willing to give up the most. Look Manning will be back Next season, and I don't care how old he is, or what injury he has..the man is Peyton Manning. If you take Luck at number one, and shop him around you have multiple options. Teams like the Dolphins, Jaguars, Chiefs, Texans, Redskins, Cardinals, Seahawks, and maybe even The Jets or the Vikings would be willing to talk trade for Luck. 

With all of these teams, and their could be even more than what i listed. But with all of these teams the Colts could easily get a couple high draft picks or a franchise player in a position they don't already have one. Reggie Wayne is getting up in age maybe you make a deal for Brandon Marshall, Dwayne Bowe, Larry Fitzgerald? Indianapolis is ranked last in almost every defensive category by trading Luck would teams be willing to trade players like. Eric Berry, DeAngelo Hall, Earl Thomas, Jared Allen, Tambi Hali, Darnell Dockett? Teams do think this guy is that good, so teams will throw some of their best players at Indi to get Andrew Luck.

Another reason why i would trade Luck. Andrew Luck isn't even proven he hasn't even worked out with NFL teams yet. When JaMarcus Russell entered the NFL teams thought he would be the next great NFL quarterback. Shoot the Raiders believed in him so much they gave him $61 million dollars $32 million guaranteed , and we all know how that turned out. I'm not saying Andrew Luck will turn out like a JaMarcus Russell or a Ryan Leaf, but I'm not ruling it out either. So come draft day Indianapolis your best bet is to draft Andrew Luck, and send him packing.

Miami's Second Dream Team?

The Florida Marlins have without a doubt made the biggest splash in this years free agency. They have signed the best closer on the market in Heath Bell, they signed last years NL batting champ Jose Reyes, and remain in close talks with starting pitcher Mark Buehrle and C.J. Wilson. Not to mention Miami already has studs Hanley Ramirez, and Josh Johnson. Ok so the Marlins are pretty much set for the 2012 season right? They don't need anybody else right?

Apparently not on December 6th the Marlins offered Albert Pujols (probably the biggest free agent on the market) a 10 year 200 million dollar deal. The deal is more than what the St. Louis Cardinals offered Pujols last spring, and he didn't accept. If the Marlins can somehow ink Albert Pujols then I think it goes without question that Miami will be the favorites to win the World Series in 2012.

The Marlins say they expect an answer from Pujols tonight. But I don't think that's the case, Pujols hasn't accepted anything yet, and I think before he does you can expect his current team the St. Louis Cardinals to strike back with an even bigger offer.

It's week 13 in the NFL! Nows the time where the playoff bracket begins to unfold, teams are grinding it out to get that final wild-card spot, clinch their divisions, or get that first round bye. So with a few divisional match ups, and a few high stakes games. Here's how your NFL week 13 match ups will pan out.



Beast Mode

 Philadelphia @ Seattle: In what turned out to be a great game! Marshawn Lynch went all out "Beast Mode" on the Eagles defense Thursday night 2 touchdowns, and over a 100 yards. In just his 3rd start of the season Vince Young has tossed 9 interceptions compared to just 4 touchdowns : /. I think it's safe to say Vince that your Eagles are no dream team, and you certainly aren't helping the cause. Final Score: Seahawks 31 Eagles 17

Tennessee @ Buffalo:  After a 4-0 start the Bills are on the decline, and it doesn't help that Ryan Fitzpatrick has been garbage as of late. Meanwhile the Titans are fighting for the final wild-card spot in the AFC, and to me if they can win this game in Buffalo I think the Titans will find their way into the playoffs. But that's an "if" and Tennessee is "in Buffalo"....I'm still sticking with the Titans tho. Final score 35-25 Titans.

Atlanta @ Houston:  Excluding the Packers at the Giants and the Lions at the Saints. This is my week 13 game to watch. with both Matt Shaub and Matt Leinart done for the year Houston is forced to rely on rookie T.J. Yates to keep them in the hunt. Atlanta has dug themselves a hole that no one thought they would ever be in. With this game not being in Atlanta I'm going with the Texans. Rookie T.J. Yates will play fairly well in his first start, and the Texans win 31-16

Oakland @ Miami:  Miami has been surging this second half of the season, but unlike Oakland they aren't playing for anything. At 7-4 Dhaaaa RAIDERSSSSS (Chris Berman voice) are a top their division, and are on the right track for their first playoff birth since 2002. With Carson Palmer playing great, and the run game being on point. Oakland wins this one easily 23-14

Denver @ Minnesota:  Minnesota is bad...enough said. However after the release of Donavan McNabb I feel like Minnesota had some weight lifted off their shoulders. Yes Tebow is god like when it comes to the 4th quarter, but with this game being at Minnesota. I'm high on the Vikings this week. Vikings amount victorious 26-14

Indianapolis @ New England:  This would be without question your game of the week if the Colts had number 18 under center. Instead they will have former Lions QB  Dan Orvlosky at quarterback, not Curtis Painter. I think we all know who will win this one. But at the least maybe Orvlosky can provide us with some entertainment and run out the back of the end zone again. Some more interesting news for Orvlosky if the colts do fall to 0-16 by seasons end. Orvlosky will be the first, and probably the only player ever to be a part of two 0-16 teams!

Cincinnati @ Pittsburgh:  Game Of The Week! The AFC race is extremely tight this year, and both these teams are right at the top. Pittsburgh got the better of the Cincinnati "Daltons" the first time these two teams met, and with this game being at Heinz field I don't think the result will be any different. Pittsburgh wins 24-17.

Carolina @ Tampa Bay:  Tampa Bay is a lot better then how they have been playing lately. I just keep wanting to pick them to win, but they keep letting me down. I bet against Cam Newton last week, but not again. If there's one thing I've learned this season its to not bet against Cam Newton. Panthers win it 30-18

New York Jets @ Washington:  Washington somehow pulled off an impressive win against the Seahawks last week...like I said "some how." The Redskins are probably up there in the conversation for worst team in the league.

Baltimore @ Cleveland:  Yes we all know Baltimore has struggled Vs losing teams this season, and the Browns are no tough out. But if the Ravens want to establish themselves as the best in the AFC they can't lose anymore games down the stretch. Baltimore wins 28-17

Dallas @ Arizona:  Dallas is leading their division by a game, and the Giants have lost 2 in a row. I know Romo doesn't play well in December but I'm not going to go against Dallas when their playing the Cardinals. Dallas wins it 26-17

Green Bay @ New York Giants:  Game Of The Week! Can anyone stop the Pack? If so of the remaining teams the Giants have the best shot. Why couldn't this be Monday Night Football? Pack roll to 12-0 by a the score of 32-17

St. Louis @ San Francisco:  Its the Rams....Maybe they'll put up a fight, but like I said its the Rams...... 49ers win 25-16

The Lions will be Suh-less after

Detroit @ New Orleans:  Game Of The Week! We all know that New Orleans are going back to the playoffs. The Superdome will be rockin! In what I think will be a high scoring game. This game may or may not be do or die for the Lions. Regardless I still think the Saints come away with a Victory. Saints win 38-33

San Diego @ Jacksonville: After Sunday gets over with football fans get to look forward to the Chargers and the Jags? we all know what happened last time San Diego was on MNF Phillip Rivers choked harder than someone within the grasps of The Big Show may I mention he leads the league in picks with 17. As for the Jags Luke McCown...yes Luke McCown will get the start his first start since being benched week 2 versus the New York Jets. Jack Del Rio is out as Jags head coach, so really I don't know what to expect from either of these teams. I'm going to go with Jacksonville in the upset. Jaguars win 13-11
